Birth to 6 Month Must Haves
It was daunting trying to prepare for the care of 3 infants. There was a lot we needed and a lot that we ended up not needing. Here are my essentials for the first 6 months. I bought almost everything from amazon.
Sleep
-3 Rock n plays (we started in cribs but quickly found out the girls all had reflux and needed to be at an angle to avoid spit up and they slept a lot better)
-3 cribs
-Halo sleep sacks (better than swaddling because they can't bust out and you can swaddle arms in or out, I would suggest 6, ideally 9)
-White noise machine
Feeding
-3 Bottle warmers (Doc browns are my favorite, they have a timer so you know exactly when the bottles will be done, super handy when all 3 are screaming for a bottle, downside, 30 seconds can feel like a lifetime. We have had these warmers a year and never had any issues)
-Anti colic bottles (we hated doc browns, too many parts for me to clean, but I loved mam bottles, ideally 24, but you could get by with 12 minimum)
-Muslin swaddle blankets for propping bottles (About 9)
-Burp clothes (around 10,000 of them, gerber "cloth diapers" make the best and cheapest burp clothes)
-3 Infant boppy (we also had full size but used the infant ones the most)
-3 Bouncers
-Pitcher for mixing formula, (doc browns)
Pumping
-Hands free pumping bra
-Medela pumping app (works great for multiples)
- Blender bottles (Can store breast milk and fortify easily in the blender bottle if need be with high calorie formula since the oz is right on the side)
-Hospital grade pump (rental)
Bathing/care
-Nail scissors (wayyy better than clippers)
-Baby bath, any
-Wash clothes (9)
-Shampoo/Body wash (Aveedo is my fav)
-Cradle cap comb
-Bella baby b shampoo if little's have cradle cap
-Lotion (Aveedo again is my fav)
-Diaper cream (Butt paste is my fav)
-Baby oil for massage and cradle cap
Stroller/car seat
-Double and single click connect strollers
-Car seats that fit click connect strollers
-Carseat covers (don't let those germy people touch your babies)
-Shoulder srtap covers to prevent straps from digging into babies shoulders
Misc
-Triplet calendar (sold on justmultiples.com, helps keep track of how much they eat, sleep, concerns, great if multiple people are watching the babies, and for when you are so sleep deprived you can't remember the last time you showered)
-Video monitor
Clothing essentials
-Sleepers (spent all the time in these in beginning) 15-20
-Beenies 6
-Onsies 15
-Pants 15
-Socks 12
In case of sickness to keep on hand
-Humidifier
-Natural chest rub
-Nose frida
-Saline
-Infant tylonel
-Thermometer
-Powdered Pedialyte
Teething
-Teethers, a variety to see what they like
-Fresh fruit feeders for when solids are introduced, we do frozen blueberries and crushed ice
-Teething bibs
Solids
-Bibs
-High chairs, ikea antelope are the best! The triplet feeding table did not work for us, the close proximity just caused eyes to be poked and hair pulled
-Baby spoons
-Little bowls
In case of constipation
-Prune juice
-Children's probiotic (Our pediatrician had us split one packet of Culturelle Kids between three bottles and they got this once a day.)
I started with a shoulder diaper bag and quickly realized it did not work, I constantly was bending down and it would just fall off. Backpack diaper bags all the way!
This is a lot of stuff, but you will not need it all at once. Focus on car seats, feeding, and sleeping to begin with.
