Hospital Bag For A Triplet C-Section

Here is what I packed in my hospital bag that I found to be the most important. I was always worried about going into labor so I had my bag packed at around 25 weeks.

Maternity clothes.
I brought all of my maternity stretchy comfy yoga pants and tanks. I had hot flashes and the NICU rooms are kept super warm so I was constantly sweaty and hot. It was nice to have tanks that I could pull down for nursing and I brought a sweater if I got cold.

Slippers or big shoes in case your feet swell. Also socks, I took my shoes off a lot in the NICU and propped them up and just wore socks.

Nursing bras and breast pads. I struggled finding nursing bras that fit because my rib cage was so swollen from my pregnancy and no regular bras fit. Here are my favorite ones from amazon that fit and didn’t cost a fortune.

Hands free pumping bra. I did not buy one until a few weeks after I delivered and it was a game changer. Here is the one I bought, it has an adjustable band and it is super comfy.

Toiletries, and a hair dryer. It felt amazing after my first shower to blow dry my hair and it made me feel a tad more human. I also brought face wipes to use for before I could stand to wash my face or shower. Dry shampoo is great as well since it could be a few days before you have enough strength to shower.

A pillow to hold against your incision on the car ride home.

Snacks!! Lots of them. It was so nice to have a small snack while I pumped in the middle of the night and Jon really appreciated having food and he didn’t have to run to the store at all during our stay.

I wish I would have brought a better towel because the hospital ones were super scratchy and small, but it wasn’t a big deal.

I also wish I would have brought my pregnancy belly support band. I wore it later after I was home because my belly was so floppy and still really big and it gave me the support I needed.

Those were the essentials for me. I also packed my twin nursing pillow but never used it during my stay, I ended up tandem feeding only once and just used two pillows under my elbows and actually just held the babies. I also brought my breast pump but ended up renting a hospital grade one that the lactation consultant suggested.

For the girls I packed their outfits for going home, but we didn’t need them during our stay. I wish I would have had little beanies in preemie size packed because our NICU didn’t really have any that fit them well. The NICU provided onesies and sleepers during their stay the few times they weren’t just in just their diapers, but you could bring your own clothes as well if you wanted them to feel a little more cozy.
